Erika

I AM SO PSYCHED ABOUT THIS SESSION. Erika, I know that you may not think so with all of these, but you are so beautiful inside and out! With each captured moment here, I wanted to attempt to capture your amazing vivacity, easy charm and overall contagious spirit. To the rest of you, if nothing else, I beg of you to notice and appreciate the outstanding character of this girl as hoped to be shown in the following frames. As being some of my favorite "captured moments" yet in my dabbling in the art, I am way too excited about sharing them with the rest of you! I had a truly blessed day with Erika meandering (our word of the day) about Bellevue, and just doing life together. I also got a little time in the spotlight (though didn't work it nearly as well as this lovely lady) while she snapped some shots of me as part of a dual shoot of sorts...so excited about where God is taking her and using her and her many talents!

Charlotte

Oh my goodness! What an awesome, adventure-packed day this was! First I'd like to acknowledge the fact that I have not seen this girl for 2 years, with the last pictures I had taken of/with her being in front of the Eiffel Tower! It was  so so SO good to catch up with her and dink around downtown, snapping shots along the way, capturing her absolutely contagious smile and free spirit! From the beginning of the day (taking an hour to find parking for the light rail--who knew people actually used that thing, right?), to brunch at 1 o'clock (I guess that's a thing), meeting awesome photographers at Pike Place (go check out Thomas Tran @ thomastytran.com!), treating ourselves at Forever 21, and then getting separated on the same, very used light rail on the way home, I could not stop thinking how grateful I am for this girl's friendship. Not to mention, she's got to be one of the most photogenic people I have ever met! Thank you so much Charlotte for such an amazing and rejuvenating day out on the town!

Alex

Georgetown, Seattle: where I spent an afternoon going outside of my comfort zone and getting to know someone whom I should have started this process with a long time ago. High school is full of stereotypes and cliques and judgment and hostility; however shouldn't it ought to be full of open minds and friendships and grace and understanding? All too often, we as young adults, fall victim to the ways of high school past. Time and time again I find myself putting people in boxes and bubbles of their "type" or "clique", while staying safe inside my own. But, aren't we all already going through this thing together? I mean, we're all here or there, taking math and science and language and history; going through our daily motions; just trying to make it to that final bell, to gather up everything as fast as we can and beeline for the doors. Going into our senior year (woohoo!), we've decided we want to do things a little differently at our school. We've decided that we want to be a part of a revolution in the worn out culture of our school. To practice stepping outside our comfort zones and allowing others to step outside of theirs in grace and encouragement. So, on this sunny summer afternoon, Alex and I took some of our first steps in this direction while we explored rustic-meets-industrial Georgetown, sharing in conversation and awkwardness together.
